Descriptif du site et monument historique
Saint-Quentin church in Baccon, completely restored in 1887, is highly representative of late 19th-century churches. For architects, it is a fine example of interior decoration from this particularly well-preserved period. An era that was so disparaged, but whose virtues are now beginning to be recognised.
This church follows on from a much older building, where legend has it that François Villon stole the sacred objects. As a result, he found himself locked up in a "cul de basse fausse" at the château de Meung-sur-Loire, and brought back some beautiful verses from his "Epitre à ses amis".
