Theatrical tale, based on the novel by Philippe CLAUDEL of the Académie Goncourt

An eight-year-old orphan is raised for a few years by her grandfather, who runs a small neighborhood bistro not far from the canal. Under the child?s eyes, the café is home to a cast of characters as cheeky as they are endearing. The grandfather passes on to his granddaughter a certain idea of life, full of human warmth. Until the day when the authorities decide, in his own interests of course, that this world is not conducive to her education?
