Exposition : Mareau Mézières, leur patrimoine religieux
With the construction of the town hall and school in 1843, the hamlet of Saint-Fiacre began to take shape and resemble what we know today. However, the Mareau-aux-Prés church is still located in the Vieux-Bourg. It was in such a state of disrepair that the clergy, town council and conseil de fabrique decided, around the middle of the 19th century, to move it, along with the presbytery and cemetery, to the present-day village.
The "En ce temps-là, à Mareau" association invites you to discover the history of this church and that of Saint-Avit church in Mézières-lez-Cléry.
A talk by Anne-Marie Yoyer-Pantin, entitled "Mais à quel saint se vouer?", will be held on November 23 at 5pm.
