Description of heritage
Descriptif du centre d'interprétation
The name of the "La Monnaye" cultural centre was inspired by the presence, on this site, of an establishment producing coins (liards) in the middle of the 17th century.
In the 18th and 19th centuries, this former mint was successively transformed into an establishment for the education and teaching of girls, a minor seminary, municipal administration and local justice offices, a military hospital and a boarding school. From 1859 and for 110 years, the building was occupied by the local boys' school.
In the twenty-first century, this architectural complex has become a centre for cultural activities. La Monnaye now houses a media library, a museum and a temporary exhibition hall.Descriptif du parc et jardin
