Visite : Découverte de la Porte d’Amont
The only survivor of the old fortifications, the Porte d?Amont is the last remaining trace of the ramparts that once surrounded Meung-sur-Loire. Built in 1629, it served as a meeting place for the town?s aldermen, and is still known today as the Porte d?Honneur.
Freshly restored thanks to a campaign conducted with the Fondation du Patrimoine, it now opens its doors to you. Climb to the top and enjoy an unparalleled view of the city, following in the footsteps of Louis XI, who stopped here after his coronation.
