Exposition « Les grandes vacances » de Doisneau
Robert Doisneau (1912-1994) was a freelance photographer who began his series with his family. He remained humble throughout his career, which is why his photos speak to everyone.
From the late 1930s to the 1960s, France lived through the golden age of shrimp nets ready for action as soon as you arrived at the Montparnasse station, suitcases on your head, buoys around your neck or water skis that you kept with you in your train berth. The idea is to get away, to go to the countryside, to discover the sea, to ride a bicycle or try out a canoe. And Doisneau achieves the great feat of creating a "family album" in which everyone can recognize themselves.
An exhibition to discover at Saint-Etienne church!
