Sculptor Valérie Barrault worked with pupils in CE2, CM1 and CM2 classes at the Notre-Dame school in Cléry-Saint-André on the theme of nourishing earth. Inspired by the work of Giuseppe Arcimboldo, the pupils used carved fruit and vegetables to create artistic works. Younger students made apples expressing different emotions, and a wheel of the seasons out of clay fruit. The older pupils created clay portraits enriched with natural elements, harmoniously combining creativity and nature. The project combined Valérie Barrault?s artistic universe with the children?s imagination. Lisa Marin, OFB project manager, also provided educational support on the theme.
